Certificate of Good Standing
A Certificate of Good Standing (also called a Certificate of Existence or Status) is a document issued by the state that certifies an LLC is properly registered and compliant with state requirements (e.g., has filed all annual reports, paid all state fees, has an active registered agent). Businesses often need this for:
Opening a business bank account (especially if it's an older LLC).
Applying for loans or lines of credit.
Registering to do business in another state (Foreign Qualification).
Selling the business.
Applying for certain business licenses or permits. You would process the request and obtain this certificate from the state on the client's behalf.
